b846355dca servo: Merge #7323 - Adds support for input element's maxlength attr (from samfoo:input-maxlength); r=jdm
This implements maxlength [as described by whatwg](https://html.spec.whatwg.org/multipage/forms.html#dom-input-maxlength) for input elements.

Remaining work:
* WPT test - I have no idea how to write a WPT for simulating user input. Webdriver? Open to suggestions here.
* Support for textarea (should be trivial, probably worth filing another issue)

2eb4f27674 servo: Merge #6777 - Cleanup lint special cases, refactor flake8 linting (from frewsxcv:refactor-tidy); r=jdm
Currently, there are a few linting functions that only run on certain
filetypes (determined by the file extension). Prior to this commit, the
special cases were handled in a parent function with a conditional. This
commit changes the system so each linting function gets passed a
filename so the function can determine whether it should run or not
based on the file extension.

I also refactored flake8 linting slightly. From what I've read so far of
the code, flake8 itself will only print the results directly to stdout
(though the linter would report the quantity of errors detected).
Prior to this commit, we would let flake8 print directly to stdout and
just determine if there were >0 errors reported. This commit (sort of
hackily) temporarily captures stdout when we call flake8 so we can do
what we want with the output, allowing us to `yield` the line number
and message like we do with the other linting functions.

In my opinion, both of these changes isolate specific behaviors/checks
into their respective linting functions instead of having them handled
at a more global level.

In addition to the changes above:

* The whitespace linter now runs on WebIDL and TOML files
* The license header linter now runs on WebIDL files

529bd3457c servo: Merge #5385 - Implemented HTMLInputElement placeholder attribute (from minsumm:placeholder); r=jdm
I'm unsure whether I should wrap 'placeholder' in Cell, or DomRefCell, or leave as it is now.
Also, the spec says that the placeholder should be presented with line breaks stripped off,
should it be done in this stage?

6ab3784311 servo: Merge #4133 - Implements basic form resetting (from mttr:form_resetting); r=jdm
We can reset `<input type=text>` fields! I wish I could've done something with checkboxes, but unfortunately, that's it for now.

In addition to that, this PR implements `HTMLInputAttribute.defaultValue`, updates wpt-test to expect passing tests as a result of that implementation, and fixes an index error crash with text inputs.

edit: also includes an html example where one may lazily watch form resets in action: ` tests/html/form_reset_handsfree.html`

Still need to impl `Activatable` on all activatable elements. I'll probably push those changes to this PR, however they can be made separately as well.

57c9401915 servo: Merge #3642 - Implement extremely basic form submission (from Manishearth:form-submit); r=jdm
This is missing a lot of parts, so it doesn't really make any real-world form submission work yet. It provides a skeleton on which the missing bits can be filled in.

What works:
 - `<input>` elements except for `type=file`
 - GET/POST methods
 - URLencoded `enctype`s (default)
 - Submission via `<form>.submit()` only

Stuff that needs to be done for most simple real-world cases to work:
 - [Working text input](https://github.com/servo/servo/pull/3585)
 - Click handlers for `<submit>`
 - Possibly `<textarea>` support
 - Support for the other two enctypes (#3649)

Todo:
 - Correctly implement [planned navigation](https://html.spec.whatwg.org/multipage/forms.html#planned-navigation) using `TrustedFormAddress` (#3648)
 - [Correctly implement form owners.](https://github.com/servo/servo/issues/3553) Requires html5ever and some discussion of the spec.
 - `<input type=file>` support
 - Image submit support
 - Browsing contexts/targets
 - Support for non-`<input>` controls
 - Validation (?)
 - Dirname (?)

2dfdae3733 servo: Merge #3520 - Implement basic form control support (from jdm:formcontrols); r=pcwalton
So far the changes to layout seem fairly well-contained; I think this is worth integrating to give us a browser that is easier to dogfood (and allows us to work on things like form submission much easier), especially since the long-term viability of WebComponents-as-forms is not assured.
